And yet, I’m convinced: There’s far too little praise in German workplaces and when it happens, it’s often done wrong.

What makes a good work life?
I’m writing this after coming home from a dinner with friends, and strangely, no one was complaining about their job. No venting, no horror stories about impossible bosses or soul-crushing deadlines. As I sat there, I wondered: Has our rebellious attitude toward work mellowed out? Have we all just been molded into quiet acceptance?
